World Forum: Home of The Hague Jazz

The third edition of The Hague Jazz was held on  23 and 24 May 2008 at the World Forum. What began in 2006 as a small-scale festival has, a mere year later, grown to become a music spectacle with worldwide allure. Popular artists from the world of jazz and related styles such as soul, blues and funk performed on a dozen different stages. This year the World Forum served not only as the location, but also as a partner in the organisation of the festival.

In the past year, the World Forum has undergone an extreme makeover. The new image is modern, original and stylish. This not only ensures that the World Forum will be able to draw more large international conferences to The Hague, but it also makes it the ideal venue for a festival like The Hague Jazz. World Forum director Guido Louwerse, co-founder of the festival, is enthusiastic: “We are so incredibly proud of an event like The Hague Jazz. It is a fantastic example of the myriad of possibilities offered by the World Forum. The entire building was transformed during the festival and positively breathed jazz. The atmosphere was great, the people really felt at home. And this was exactly what we had hoped to achieve."

The partnership between the festival organisation (Clockround Events) and the World Forum is promising. The festival has already grown into a music spectacle featuring top national and international artists. 8500 people came to the opening day of the two-day jazz festival. On Saturday night, all ten thousand available tickets were sold out.
