Centre of peace and justice

The first Peace Conference was held in The Hague in 1899. Today, over a century later, The Hague , as home to seven UN institutions and organisations, is the international city of peace and justice. The World Forum is located at the beating heart of the The Hague World Forum, a familiar and accessible zone for international organisations active in the areas of peace and justice. Here you will find the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) as well as the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and in 2008 Europol will open an office here too.

The World Forum  – like the city itself – actively supports meetings involving peace and justice.  Every year we welcome conferences of the International Criminal Court (ICC), the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and The Hague International Model United Nations (THIMUN), among others.
